Write to Your Local Representative/Elected US Senator

Thanks to the initiative of much of the public to write to their representatives, the Big Cat Public Safety Act was sucessfuly passed in July of 2022. Further milestones for big cat conservation can be reached when more people choose to make a difference and write to their representatives about issues facing big cats, such as upholding the articles of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Check this website to find the US representative that you should contact based on your location.

02

Conserve Energy and Water

Simple actions such as turning off the lights when you leave a room, unplugging appliances that are not in use, composting, using cloth towels instead of paper towels, and turning off the faucet when you are not using it can make an impact if we all decide to make little changes to our daily lives. Please consider making these small changes and sharing how others can contribute. These actions, if done by enough people, can help decrease climate change that impacts big cats' habitats. Remember that one person's actions may not change the world completely, but one person's voice can make all the difference.

Donate to Conservation Organizations

If you are able to, consider donating to a conservation organization such as Panthera, Snow Leopard Trust, National Geographic, or the World Wildlife Fund. This money helps contribute to big cat research that reveals more about the world of big cats and identifies more efficient conservation strategies. This money also goes towards funding impactful conservation projects that you can read more about on each organization's website.
